The Event
Held in conjunction with the 30-Mile Lean Horse Ultra Marathon, this unique challenge combines trail running with functional fitness.
The competition begins with a Black Hills CrossFit movement. Once that movement is completed, the first runner heads to the first aid station. Each aid station features a designated workout movement. After completing the movement, the teammate begins their running leg. This continues until the final athlete crosses the finish line.
All event movements are released. Teams may choose which athlete completes each movement and corresponding running leg.
Team Requirements:
- Teams of 3: Each athlete must complete 2 movements and 2 running legs.
- Teams of 6: Each athlete must complete 1 movement and 1 running leg.
- Individuals: Complete all movements and running segments.
Movements are selected from standard Black Hills CrossFit exercises.
Each registered athlete will receive an official event t-shirt.
The course starts at the Custer Track, follows the Mickelson Trail to the Hill City Aid Station turnaround, and finishes back at the Custer Track.
Awards
- The top three Individual finishers and the top three teams in each division will receive Championship Awards.
- All athletes who successfully complete the event will receive a Finisher Award.
- Gym/Club Team Awards: Any gym or club that enters three or more teams in the same division will be eligible for special Gym/Club Awards. First, Second, and Third Place Gym/Club Awards will be presented to Gym/Club members within that division.
